What makes a baby name unique?

What is the prettiest most unique name you have ever heard? And what makes a name unique? It seems that the "UNIQUE" names are popular right now. What number does it need to be in the top 1000 names for it to be unique?

Make the name unique for you and your kids. Who was special in ur life, ur husbands? Using part of a family members name can help make a "TOP 100" name less FAD. My grandpa had a cousin who was very important to him who died in WW2, his name was Zane and ever since i was a child that name has stuck with me... has the same mean as John but it's less common. So combine something like that with a more common name that you like would detract from the normallity of a top 100 name.
Reply:Blakely....its going to be my daughters name....its unique and special to me! I never flipped thru one baby book to find it either.....I did after just to see if it was in there and there were very few books I seen it in! I think unique is defined by the person whos naming the baby.....whats unique to me may not be unique to another person!

I think a unique name is just one you dont see that often, like Harlow or Delta or Blake for a girl.





The weird ones are made-up ones like Kayleena, Marquinada and Charmalina and stuff...Blech!
Reply:YOu want unique- go back to classical correctly spelled names. I can't believe half the ridicules dribble that comes into my classrooms and I am suppose to remember these misspelled off the wall names. Nothing original about being uneducated and not being able to spell correctly.

What makes a name unique is the fact that not many people have or have heard of it and it sounds exotic
Reply:I have always loved the name Selena. It means moon. Rose is sorta common, but it's pretty. I also like names that start with L. Like Leslie, Lina, Lissy, Lillian (lilly), Lisa, and Lila.
