Is "Umbra" a cool, unique name for a book?

An umbra is the darkest part of a shadow, and it really applies to my book! Does it sound intriguing to you? (the book is kind of on the line between sci-fi and fantasy) Would you pick up a book called Umbra?

I thought you were going to ask if Umbra was a cool, unique name for an umbrella. That's what it reminds me of. But anything could work as a book title.
Reply:I probably would read it. It sounds interesting enough.

But whenever I see the word Umbra, I think of Pokemon.
Reply:a lot of people dont know what an umbra is, so no one is going to want to read something they don't relate to or understand.

i suggest "The Darkest Part of a Shadow" it has enough mystery to it that people would be curious as to what is the book about and might get images of a fantasy book
Reply:If the cover art conveyed the storyline well then yes. But since most people do not know what it means then without good cover art they will probably pass it by. The darkest part of a shadow is better
Reply:Honestly, I had no idea what Umbra was. I'd probably pick up the book soley because I'd want to figure out what that word meant. But either, the book is being picked up, so I guess it's good.
Reply:I like that different and intresting at the same time.
Reply:I had no idea what an umbra was, so I would have definitely picked up the book and at least read the back cover to see what it was about. But now that I know, I probably wouldn't be interested anymore ;) (just kidding, I still would).
Reply:I would.

:)
Reply:Not really.

It sounds like:

umbrella, shoulder, a manly looking woman.

To be honest, I would probably only pick it up to laugh at the name.
