What are your suggestions for a unique, but not too unique baby girl name?

I have a Brooke, Madison and Camryn and this is number four - I don't want it to be as popular as Madison (although I love her name).

Thanks!!

What are your suggestions for a unique, but not too unique baby girl name?

Reply:Unique can't be more or less unique. That's like being a little pregnant. Unique literally means: ONE OF A KIND.

Here's a great way to find UNUSUAL names (which is what I'm assuming you meant when you said unique)

Go to http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/ and look up the top 1000 names from last year, scroll through the last 500. In between all the misspelled names, you'll find lesser used names. This might be what you're looking for. Or you can look up the top 1000 names from any given year - 1880 until 2007. You might find something unusual and pretty from back in 1880.

Here are some names I found:

Camilla

Mara

Audrina

Gia

were all in the lower half of the top 1000 names used in the US in 2007.

Alice

Eva

Lena

Nora

Lydia

Beatrice

were all popular in 1885.

Ruby

Clara

Vera

Cora

Regina

were all popular in 1921

Hope this helped!

Good luck to you!
Reply:Wow, you've got a lot of suggestions, ranging from the ultra-feminine to the just plain silly.

Brooke, Madison and Camryn all have a gender neutral vibe, so I think you need to stick with something that sounds a bit borrowed from the boys.

Harper and Rowan are great suggestions; you might also consider Hadley, Ellery or Emery. They all seem to meet your desire for a less common name, but still match your three girls' names, too.
Reply:Congratulations!

You seem to like unisex names, so here are some suggestions I think would fit well with your daughters' names:

Harper -- currently ranked #441

Rowan -- currently ranked #450

Eden -- currently ranked #257

Regan -- currently ranked #547

If you don't mind abandoning the unisex theme, I think Eve is lovely, and it matches the simplicity of Brooke. It's also not very popular -- it's currently ranked #618.
Reply:Aww you've already got cute names so this one has to be just as cute!

I'll try names I've never heard in all my years of school, or if I did it was once.

Reply:You have a lot to choose from. Here are a few more to consider:

Judah (although a male Hebrew name) has a very feminine American sound, Jailyn, or Prism (I just thought about that one) may not be completely unique but I've never heard of anyone by that name.
