I need a unique creative name for a wedding planning business?

Are you focused in on any particular part of wedding planning? That may help you narrow down your ideas. I am a wedding planner and my focus is theme events at a budget. My business name is Imagination 2 Creation. If you can imagine it we can create it even on a budget. It took me a long time to come up with that one. I actually saw the words together in magazine add for a hotel catering department and just couldn't get away from it. I just loved it so much i had to use it. My sister n' law uses Design Your Affair - Sheer Elegance at Afforable Prices. Here are a few names we went through before coming up with the names above.

Here are a few tips to figuring out a unique name.





1. research the name of other businesses in your area. I actually went to superpages.com and searched for wedding consultants in my area to see what type of business name they had. I wanted something memorable an uniquely different from the ones i found listed. Plus you will want to know if someone else in your state or area is using a name that you are thinking of. You will need a unique trade name.





2. Use a Thesurarus to do research on certain words. I did this alot. Look up different variations on the word Wedding, Celebrations, Events etc. This will help you figure out a nice combination of words that are advertising the same type of business others in your area are with a unique twist on the words. Like Soriee's from the Heart. - still advertising events/weddings but just using a more sofisticated word.





3. The name should reflect your personallity. Are you a traditional type planner or do you think out of the box? From the examples below you can see i am a think out of the box type person where as my sister n' law is a more traditional wedding planner.

Reply:I'd simply call it 'the wedding planner'. That should clue the public in as to what type of business you are conducting. If you get too creative.....potential customers won't be aware of what services you offer. Also if you go with 'wedding planner' the phone book listing will be simple for customers to look up. Good luck
