Do you find this name too unique?

Elisabetta.

It's the Italian form of Elizabeth and it's pronounced Eh-lee-sah-beh-tah.

*Do you think it's to hard to pronounce?

*Too difficult to spell?

*Do you know any Elisabetta's?

*I'm planning on either using Betta, Elisa, or Ellie for nicknames, which one would you use?

P.S.

A big grazie, merci, gracias, and thank you to anyone who answers.

Do you find this name too unique?
I think it's a beautiful name..... although I have a feeling that people are going to mispronounce it an awful lot (unfortunate that they will though).

It's not difficult to spell, and I don't know any Elisabetta's, but I really think Betta is a super cute nickname.

Hope that helps!!
Reply:Are you Italian? I like ethnic-ish names, so long as you or the spouse are of the relevant ethnicity. The name is pretty, if a little long, so a nickname is a good idea. I know an Elizabeth who goes by Ellie, and I like it a lot. The name is a very happy, pretty sounding name that she can use as a child or adult. I don't know any Elisabettas, but I don't think it is too unique.
Reply:no, it's nice. I've never heard of it.

It's a real name, it's not a made up name.

It's beautiful. Yes it is unique, not common. I think people/children will only have to hear it once to be able to pronounce it/remember, and it is spelled like it sounds.

I'm an opera fan, so I love Italian names, I love Renate.

(Ranada)

It's just fine on a white girl.
Reply:I love it, I think its very unique, but thats good!

Some of my favorite names for girls are Isabela (italian) and Soleil (so-lay; french)

My name is Brooke which is pretty common now but I loved having a different name!

I like Elisa for a nickname too

Good for you on stepping out of the norm, and congrats on your new baby girl!
Reply:love it. it's not hard to pronounce, not hard to spell (unless you're terrible at spelling), i know one, but she spells is Elizabetta, her nickname is Liza (Lie-Zah).

love the nicknames Elisa and Ellie. i would use Ellie while she is a little girl and then maybe when she's a teen use Elisa (sounds a bit more grown up).

wonderful name!

Reply:i dont think its too unique, because its from another culture it sounds different but its not made up or anything, you know what i mean? its very pretty but if you live in America then she may have trouble with people spelling it and pronouncing it.

i would DEFINITELY use Ellie as a nn
Reply:I think it is a little out there. It kind of seems made up. When I first looked at it, I had to stop and sound it out, because it was a luttle over welming. I wasn't sure it it was E-lisa-bet-uh, or E-Liza-bet-uh or like what it was. I think you should still use it though. If you are Italian, then it is perfect!
Reply:I think it is beautiful. It is not TOO hard to pronounce, but every time I see it, I feel like I need to pronounce it with an Italian accent, lol. I think any of those nicknames would be cute.. I would probably call her Elise, myself. :o)

Hope that helps!! Good luck!
Reply:It's a very beautiful name but people may have a hard time pronouncing it right....teachers, daycare providers, etc. Some parents get tired of correcting people on their child's name, just just shrug it off. Depends on you.

I think Ellie would be a cute nickname.
Reply:Its Italian, and it is beautiful.

Think of the environment that your daughter will grow up in and if you think she will have any trouble in life, with people miss spelling it, or having a hard time pronouncing it, (I have to admit i did). Then dont name her that!
Reply:i like it okay, but people are going to pronounce it like elizabeth, but with betta on the end, and the li isnt going to be accentuated like you indicated, but i think its okay
Reply:i have never heard of elizabetta but if its cutural then go with it its your choice its not hard to spell its just different nicknames ellie, or elisa depending on how you say it, would it be

ee-liz-uh or uh-lee-sa
Reply:its actually very pretty...and the way its said is very beautiful...its got a femenine ring to it...i dont know any elisabettas anywhere. but then again, i live where there are tons of hispanics =) but its very beautiful.
Reply:I think it is great it is unique it's not too unique at all!!!

Ellie for nickname!! definitely

and it is pronounced exactly spelled!!!

It's not THAT difficult
Reply:It's not too unique. It's Italian, not made up or anything. It's a great name! I would definitely use Ellie. You might not want to use Betta, because it would probably transform itself into Betty.
Reply:Elisabetta is cute! Nickname Ellie is cute!

Reply:Not if she looks Italian/Hispanic. A little odd on a white girl lol.
