Can you name me a few unique freshwater fish?

I would like a list of pretty freshwater fish that don't get too big. (Maximum 4 inches) Just wondering. You don't need to know aquarium size or anything, I just want to know what's out there! Thanks!

Can you name me a few unique freshwater fish?
I loved Sharks (bottoms), Butterfly fish (top dwellers), tiger barbs, cherry barbs, swordtails, goldfish, tetras and stay away from African Cichlids. They're cool, but voracious. South American Cichlids are silvery and I think they're more mellow.

Angel fish always look near death in a store and they're expensive.

Man-made stuff like "glass" fish, or whatever, die in days. Save your money. Only buy natural fish. If you care for your fish, keep the tank close to natural, your fish will be big, healthy and long-lived.

I like brackish fish. They like dirty water, plants and wood. Unless it's really hot in the house and the algae blooms, no cleaning necessary.
Reply:I LOVE rams!

That parrot fish is neat.

The Discus are the coolest looking fresh water fish I think

I think killifish are so cute and pretty

Look up different types of Bichir. They look prehistoric.
Reply:There Are African Butterfly fish that are pretty unique and they get to about 6 inches big

Here is a link on them
